Iowa Lakes Community College TRIO-SSS offers a wide variety of student resources and programs to help student,
“We offer students who are in TRIO-SSS a book library where they can take books that they need for the semester for free along with calculators that they will end up returning at the of the semester.” Said Tiffany Neivan one of TRIO-SSS Advisers
“We also offer scholarships and a grant aid for students who are in our program. A grant aid is where you can get money after scholarships are taken out of your bill and that can go towards your student loans or your current bill as students are starting to get locked out of canvas.”
Neivan later on said,”We also offer free tutoring along with workshops for the classes you are struggling in. We also offer students when it gets closer to midterm or end of semester we do a cram-fest. Which is where you go to get help studying along with helping other students study for the classes you have together.”
“It has helped me with paying for college. It also helped me chose what college I wanted to go to.” Nicole Benson and Iowa Lakes Student. “They are there to mentor you and they are there for you when you need help. I definitely recommended joining TRIO.”
“Students are asked to fill out an application form and what determines weither or not they get in is the Income and how many family members are in the house hold. 99 percent of the time the student makes it into the program.” Neivan.
