Construction project

The construction class is building homes for people in emmetsburg and that is amazing because they are helping people get a new house. The community is excited to get new houses because then they can move people into their new homes. My dad is apart of the program and he said “Building these houses are fun they give me a chance to help someone get a new home and help me learn how to build a house.” My dad is a “freshman” this year and will be helping out next year. He also said that during the summer he will be building a whole bunch of things. It is great to see colleges do things for the community they are in. Like when the campus in Estherville, a teacher had kids pick up a bunch of trash and if you won you got a prize. The prize in this is making a house learning how to build it then selling it to a new person. I saw the prize is learning because then someday you can build your dream house. A homeowner said “This is one of the best houses I’ve lived in thank you iowa lakes constuction program.” As the program continues to go so does emmetsburg. Be on the look out for new houses in emmetsburg built by lakers.
