With college ending a little different last year Kelly Murphy gives us some info as to what she is doing now days.
“I graduated with my degree in the Digital, Social, Broadcast Productions program at Iowa Lakes,” Said Kelly Murphy.

While graduation was different in the spring this year due to Covid that didn’t stop her from being proud of her achievement.
“My favorite classes at Iowa Lakes had to be either Kevin Tlam’s radio cast or Jason White’s broadcasting class. Sorry Matt, but your classes were way too much work.”
Murphy then decided she wanted to continue her education.
“I am currently studying at Drake University with a major in Digital Media Production and a minor in Marketing. I work for Drake University’s Marketing department as an official photographer as well.”-Murphy

“My favorite part about Iowa Lakes was that it gave me the ability to get my grades in order so that I could succeed at Drake. Iowa Lakes also helped me get away from my small town and find out who I am and what I believe in. I loved Iowa Lakes and would highly recommend the program I was in. It gave me so much experience and gave a good grasp on how to do my job. I also saved so much money by going there so that was great!”-Murphy
“Covid has affected my learning and my life in general. I have had to get tested three different times (all came back negative), but it is killing my drive for class. Almost all of my classes are over Zoom and if they are in person we have to be six feet apart and wearing masks. It makes learning difficult but the good part is that cases on my campus are very controlled.”-Murphy.
Murphy later on gave her advice to current Iowa Lakes Students.
“My advice for students is to remember that your education is a worthwhile investment, but it can be tough. It’s worth it when it is done, but when you are in the thick of your education it can feel like a never-ending nightmare. I promise it’s worth it and you can do it.”-Murphy
