Iowa Lake’s Men’s Basketball

The Iowa Lake’s men’s basketball team cannot wait to their season and to play to play in their first home game. The Iowa lake’s men’s basketball team has been waiting longer than expected to get their season started.

          In the class multimedia projects the broadcast students cannot wait for the home opener either and it will be the first game of the season they will do to broadcast a game.

          The Iowa lake’s home opener will be on Saturday November 21, 2020 vs Des Moines Area Community College. Iowa Lake’s first game of the season will be on November 1, 2020 vs Marshalltown Community College.

          Troy Larson the Iowa Lake’s head coach said “It is very important we start the season off on the correct foot. It is so hard to get down early in this conference because this conference is so hard to play in. The hardest part at the beginning of the year in the first two games is playing in the fourth quarter and learning if we are in shape yet. “Also, in the first two games you have a better idea of who your play makers are.”

          Iowa Lake’s has some key returning guy’s coming back this season of Dillon Carson, Kevin Cook, and Keshawn Pegues. Dillion averaged 8.8 points a contest last year. Kevin Cook averaged 9.3 points per game last year and Keshawn Pegues averaged 12.5 points per game last season.

          Iowa Lake’s did so well of shooting the three ball extremely effective last year. Iowa Lake’s shot it 43.1 percent as a team last season. This will be a big key last year with the good returning shooters coming back this season.

          Iowa Lake’s will need to work on their free throw shooting this year last year they shot it at 71.5 percent as a team. Free throws are so important because they can win the big baskets at the end of the game. Iowa Lake’s would like that percentage to be in the 80s.

          Kevin Cook said “We have a good team this year. The big key is getting off to a great start to the season. I think we will have a great start because we have gotten a lot of practice time up to this point and have gotten film on what to see of other team’s in practice.”

          Iowa Lake’s has one of the best teams in the conference this year coach Larson like’s his team to be at the top and he also think’s Kirkwood has a good shot to win the conference as well.
