COVID EFFECTING THE PROS

It is a true miracle that the MLB and the NBA got to finish the 2020 season with all the coved 19 protocols. The Miami marlins had to stop playing because they are so many people test positive. Also, the St Louis Cardinals also had to shut down for the while. Now in time people were talking about if we would continue to have a season. I bet if just one more team got the virus the season would have shut down but after the cardinal’s players got it no another team got it the rest of the season. I think it was an excellent idea to have the MLB playoffs in a bubble because it worked out nobody else ended up getting it when they were in the bubble.

          The NBA also went to a bubble format halfway through the season. I was also wondering how the NBA is going to get through there season. Once teams got to Orlando Florida in the bubble they were not allowed to leave until they were eliminated in the postseason. The NBA did a better job than the MLB with eliminating more cases with the covid. I think what worked so well with the NBA is they went to the bubble right away and the players kind of knew what to expect when the restart happing.

          The big question now is how long it will last with the NFL just like Major league baseball there has been a lot of people who opted out this season or has gotten the virus. NFL also cannot go to a bubble format like the MLB or NBA because there is no bubble where they could play in.  The NFL has made a statement saying they will fine any coach that does not wear a mask on the sidelines. According to Teresa Walker “The NFL has a lot of protocols that teams need to follow like testing centers. “If a team does get it, they try to close their activity centers and not play that week and reschedule on a Monday or Tuesday night. Has there been some teams that have done that this year?

          I am glad we have got to have sports back I am glad the pros are trying to get it right and they want them to play as much as possible also. They also want it to be as safe as possible. I am so glad they got to crown two teams’ champions so far. As much work the players have put in so far they deserve to be called champions.
