Scouting Practice’s

Staff Writer Cody Van Den Berg

The Iowa lake’s men’s basketball team is practicing for the upcoming season. The camera crew for multimedia projects for Iowa lakes got a chance to video the practice on October first. The reason being is other teams in the conference has to send out game film of their practices before the season starts for the teams to start scouting them.

Iowa Lakes Community College went through a lot of defensive drills to show during their film time. Troy Larson the head coach of Iowa Lake’s men’s basketball team said “I love doing the film in are practices  because it shows us what a lot of teams are like in practice and how hard they will play. I like when we film are practices because I know my guys will really get after it because they know other teams are going to watch them.

” Coach Larson also says I also like doing the game film because than we can sit and watch the game film together and see what we can improve before going on the floor. Coach Larson also said how much he liked the Multimedia projects crew to come in and shoot are practices.

I loved the great camera work and the different angles it got in my practice I also liked the microphone work. Another great thing about having your practice recorded is you can see who gets after it and who does not sometimes that goes unnoticed sometimes. In the film room I had to call some people out on it, but I hope they will learn from it.

“Dillon Carlson says it just felt like any other practice I just tried to play my hardest like I always do with the camera’s being there I did not feel any pressure at all”. Iowa Lake’s first game will be November 21 vs Des Monies Area Community College at home.
