“Today was a struggle top to bottom for the guys it was hard to get anything going in this tournament and come up with good scores. We have some work to do with all of these freshmen on the squad this year. I am confident they will continue to work hard and get better meet to meet as the season goes on says Iowa Lake’s men coach Jarvis Weber”. “Weber says this will be a learning season this year but these guys have the talent to get it done.
Iowa Lakes hopes to rebound back as they get to shoot at there home meet. The Tuesday meet will be on September 22 as the Iowa Lakes Lakers heads to the Brooks golf course at Okoboji. The match will be with NIACC and Iowa Central.
“Weber says it will be nice to go to are home course the course that we practice on everyday is just what we need after not finishing to well in Mason City. “I am really confident we will play better at are home meet since we know the course so well. It will also we a tough test because we are facing the same teams we saw in Mason City we will have come right out and hit it in the fairway and post some solid scores on the scorecard again.”
“Iowa Lakes’ freshman number one golfer Sam Miller says if I can be consistent for us this season and continue to shoot a 75 on the scorecard. I will be ok with that as a induvial. I want to help the team as much as possible but I can only control what I can shoot on the scorecard for every meet.” We have the home meet coming up I am really confident we can do better because we know are greens better than anyone since we practice at that course every day.”
