Iowa Lakes Community College scholarships are open for applying for scholarships and grants.

“Everyone who is interested in going to Iowa Lakes, and who is currently a student at Iowa Lakes is legible to receive scholarships and grants. Some grants are based on your financial setting. Like if you are in a home that doesn’t get a very large of income and you filled your FASFA you are more than likely able to get the PELL Grant” Said Bob L’heureux who is on the Iowa Lakes Community College Foundation Board. ” Some of the scholarships you have to qualify for such as Gene Lenard scholorship you have to reside in Palo Alto county to be able to receive that scholorship. ” “If you are recruited for sports you are more than likely going to get a scholorship for that sport.”

He then later on said,” If your GPA is High and you apply for the Presidential Scholarship you more than likely will get it. We usually have a cut off for each scholorship where there isn’t many funds we have to cut people off and that why its important to have your application done before February First. We score them and review them and based upon the criteria involved in scoring them it sometimes ends up being need base. We also look at what they have done outside of school along with recommendations. Some Scholarships are restricted and it depends on the scholarships that are available and there are some that aren’t. Along with some of the scholarships that are just for your program.”

“It is absolutely worth the time to fill out each and every scholarship application you can. A few years back when I was still studying for accounting a scholarship was awarded to me which saved my whole school career. I was on a lot of state aid that I lost suddenly. During that in between time I was jumping through hoops and getting my aid figured out. So filling out scholarships is worth your time because hey its free money.” Makayla Secrist.

Priority Scholarship deadline has passed but you still have a to fill out your application that will be scored until April First at Midnight.
